    Hi Lynn and welcome!

    Really nice smooth background and the lighting looks pretty with your fill flash. The green complements the duck. The catch light looks sharp in the eyes. I would try a little more sharpening to the face. I would also like to see a little more room on the left ... so that the duck has some room to "look into". You got down nice and low, and it has a good intimate feel, with a good head turn!

    Brian's wish is my command plus applied the Linear Curve preset in CS3 and darkened the eye and lightened the iris a tad as the image looked quite flat.

    ps: Love the bird, the head angle, the COMP, and the BKGR. No clue as to species...

    As far as species, it might be a Baikal Teal (male)

    Lynn, beatiful image and Artie really took it up a notch with that curves adjustment and eye treatment. Nicely seen!!!
