Whilst at the set up last week I noticed more than usual, small flocks of Long Tailed Tits coming into feed on the fatballs.....probably due to the cold weather.....I did get quite a lot of shots, so decided to change the perch...I wasn't sure if this would work because of the sharp pine needles....But it did, and this bird decided to place it's tail on this side of the perch, giving a good view of why these small birds are named....Gimbal Head....ACR, Topaz DN and PS...

Really clean and beautiful colours too. I really like this shot, if I may be picky I would point to the burrs by the feet, I may be wrong but they do have the appearance of being cut off cleanly. I usually find rubbing a bit of soil over them would provide sufficient disguise.

Displays the subject well here Will, clean and simple.

Might get a bit more green into the needles, but no deal breaker, just not loving the nodules where the branch has been trimmed, a bit ugly. Not sure if you need to add something more as the perch just looks/appears sterile and not natural IMHO.

Hi Will a very nice and clean shot of this lovely little fella
The headturn is nice ,adds a cuteness factor here IMHO.
I can see what Jon & Steve are saying about the perch , but i would take it as is ... if this was mine .
Only thing i might change is the overall coolness , specially in the subject itself ... matter of taste .

Another great result! I love how the entire bird and perch are in focus. Head turn is perfect. A bit hot on the head, but everything else looks great. I didn't notice the cut nodules others have referenced, but I understand their concerns
after they was pointed out. Composition is perfect. A really great result!

I agree with Dorian about having both the bird and perch in focus is great! Nice pose from the subject, the cut branches is minor IMHO.
