The first thing I noticed was how cold/blue the image feels. I'm no expert on WB, but it will be interesting to see if other echo that sentiment.
Otherwise, the perch is really tough for me. It's busy and much of it is OOF. I would have let this opportunity go, but I don't know if this bird is
unusual in your area, for example.

Hi Jon ... first of all nice to get this shot of the Redpoll
Comp is nice and i am ok with the bird sitting in all that desaster ... i can understand Dorian thoughts though .
From my POV the color is way OFF ... no need to be a color expert Dorian .
So with a little bit of tweaking in the colors and burning the HL would do a good thing to the image , from my POV

On reflection Andreas I agree, I have other images....

If you process the other images the same way ... they will have the same color issues , as the colors are the only really issue here

Yes, much too blue - it needs considerable warming up. You said you made a few versions in terms of colour temp - curious to see another you did. Setting is natural, I often see these guys feeding on these types of dry vegetation, but yes to being very busy though.

I agree with everyone concerning the cool WB. A problem that I frequently have when taking one of these "natural" surroundings images is the shadows across the bird that often are present. Tough to get that clear shot but still retain the sense of environment.
