Although the Junco is terrific, the BG almost steals the show here. There is a whitish figure eight spot above the bird's head that keeps drawing my eye away that I might get rid of.

Dan, I love shooting Juncos. They are pretty much year-round here.
Those dogwoods are tremendous. We have Arctic Fire Dogwood in our backyard, wonder if they are the same?
I'd be good with this for the most part but the prominent twig coming up through the head is unfortunately distracting. You might be able to add a touch more punch to the darker head too.
Thanks for the inspiration to go update my files with these guys.

The sticks are a blessing (the stunning color) and a curse (clutter), but the frame cracks regardless. Bird is nice and sharp, so that's great.
I'm curious about the crop. Did you go vertical because you wanted the longed lines of the stick behind? He feels very cramped/hemmed by the vertical edges as presented.
The bird looks wider than tall, so my first thought would have been horizontal. I still have nothing of the species. I need a feeder! But I'n need property with a yard for that and
-- sadly -- that starts at $2,000,000 in the Bay Area!
