    Default White-quilled Bustard (male, Namibia)

I went wide since the bird cracks against the habitat; it's amazing it survives given the contrast between it and the surroundings.
WB is the same as the previous bustard frame I presented. That bird was on dirt while this was on dirt with grass behind.

Good choice making the bird smaller in frame Dorian.....Regarding the WB...I may reduce the yellows a wee bit....But that's me....not being used to this golden light...If this is how it was, I would leave as is.....I like how the FG blends with the BG...Detail on the bird looks good with a nice pose and HA....

I do prefer this one to the first...Excellent habitat image.

I love that pose with he head pulled back above the shoulders. Yes, nice habitat indeed, and the yellows look good to me.

Dorian, I really like the sense of perspective with your choice of comp. I can just feel the arid feel and totally agree with the way he stands out.

Like the pose too with slightly upward cocked head. I feel you did a good job encompassing the thin, yellow environment on this one while letting some of the natural subject colors come through.

Are the darker plumage more gray than black IRL?

Just watch sharpening with a bit of halo in front of the neck and breast, but super mild in the grand scheme.
