    Default Greater Flamingo (Namibia)

    This was a tough shot as I needed to pan from my stomach after holding the 10lb rig prone for ~75 mins. So yeah, tired arms!

    This bird was the second of two to take off, hence the streak of disturbed water in front of the subject. I wish the legs were in focus;
    f/8 mighta helped with that, but I wasn't ready for the pair to takeoff when they did. Mighta been more DOF than I coulda managed
    on such a big bird anyway!

    Another great reward for effort and the eye looks spot on in this one, helped by slightly indirect light.
    Super raised foot with trailing action droplets. Love the shot!

    Very striking image Dorian, love the pose, light, composition. Pity about the legs but I you are quite right that even more DOF would not have fixed that. No big deal for me anyway.

    Agree about wishing the legs were in focus, but still a very awesome image Dorian! Love the action, leg position, wing position, etc... Nicely done

    Hi Dorian ... stunning image , i like it as presented ..... maybe a bit more room all around would be better .
    The subject itself does look good all around .
    Superb work , albeit not expect by you that the bird started his action . I do nor mind the legs

    Super action shot. I have a hard time forcing myself to look away from that intense stare of the bird to even notice the legs are slightly OOF.

    This is the best of them I reckon as the focus is spot on the head . Great frame
