Default Look into my eyes ....

Hi folks ... i keep staying in Zambia for this image .
We have not been spoiled with Lions so much in South Luangwa , so we tried to go to a core zone of the park . We got late there but still lucky enough to see a couple of Lions feeding on a carcass from the night before .
But it did not last long and the Lions disappeared into the bush

    full frame

F 6,3 ; Iso 1600 ; 1/400 sec .... due to operator error and the idiot did not recognize , but got away with such slow SS

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2023 ; a bit of clean up in FG and a grass blade that ran over the lions face

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous thread

The lion looks amazing - superb even. The image is compelling. The carcass and part of the foreground appear rather orange looking to me.

The capture conveys what Lions do... eat, sadly when they eat, their eyes can appear slight odd, at least they are open. Nice POV and with the jaunty head angle, clenched mouth (nice to see some teeth) it conveys well to the viewer the situation.

Just on the cusp re SS and there is a slight movement/motion in some areas, but hey... we have all been there. My only suggestion would to drop the luminosity on the FG grasses, the one intersecting the rib and the bright bone on the LHS, the grasses do compete I feel.

Thanks Jon & Steve for your comments , much appreciated .

@ Jon ... the orange is part of the morning light , so i kept it orange .

@ Steve ... with hindsight i should have toned the twigs down , thanks for the pointer

Extremely powerful image - the eye contact really takes it to another level. I agree with Steve on dropping luminosity on the FG grasses, the one intersecting the rib and the bright bone on the LHS. You were indeed lucky to get away with the low SS

Well captured Boetie, great pose from the subject and those eyes tell the story, nice POV.

I love the light and warmth here, a lot. Good detail on the lion and I like the visible teeth. I too think that toning down the bright bits in the FG is a good idea.

A very interesting image with lots to look at. Truly enjoyed viewing, keep looking through those folders for more gems...

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
