    Default African Fish Eagle

Hi folks .... one of my rare Eagle images in general .
Captured this wonderful specimen on the bank of the South Luangwa river in Zambia , tried to approach him slowly .... he was already getting nervous the closer we came with the vehicle . I finally manged a couple of shots before he flew off ... at least he gave me the head turn , which saved the image for me .
    Hope you like it.

Hi Andreas, beautiful bird, love the pose and look back. Nice background and foreground, colors and feather detail. Thank you for sharing.

I agree with all the above, nothing to add really - striking image of an imposing bird. Nice one Andreas

Striking image Andreas. Blacks & whites processed nicely! Ideal pose, sharpness and graduated BG. Must admit I'd be tempted to remove the 5 or so twigs on the bottom left though. TFS

Nice looking subject Andreas, clean/smooth BKG with no distractions and at ISO 400 no need for any NR.

POV works and I like the look back.

tried to approach him slowly .... he was already getting nervous the closer we came with the vehicle
Everything has it's comfort zone, it's knowing when to back off and then, step back.

Yeah, this is great. I was hoping to capture this species on my two Africa trips this year, but -- alas -- no representative came within 50 meters. I am therefore envious of this image with perfect exposure and details! The head turn really makes the shot, and i think you were wise to leave a lot of room to the left. Bravo.

I love the white head on the dark body. Perfect head turn. Nice view of those huge talons! Glad it stuck around just long enough for you to get this frame.
