This handsome Bufflehead Drake produced some major G-force as he banked, blasting past me on the S. Platte River in Denver. I don't know what the fastest ducks are (maybe the Green-winged Teal?) but these are sure up there.

Hi Brian ... what a pose , and you captured that nicely .
All looks great to me , but would wish for less denser blacks and a bit more details in the white areas .
Lovely overall colors and the warm BG is lovely .

Anyhow a cool shot i would like have in my collection .

Hi Brian, really great banking pose, love the wing position. If mine I would lower the contrast, I think that would help the whites and blacks. Thank you for sharing,

What a pose!! Nice BG too, and I love that we can see the water surface as well. The whites look good to me, but I agree the blacks are pretty heavy. Good call adding canvas, but check the repeating drop patterns from where you borrowed at right. Super cool flight image man, these guys are not easy!

The pose, eye-contact, and action are fantastic, but I'm gonna agree with the others about the contrast, specifically the heavy blacks on the back. These guys are a hella tough exposure in bright sun!

Very good comments gents, thank you.

The contrast did get a little out of hand on this one. Granted, the subject's back is behind the line of the sun and in the shadows. While the blacks weren't blocked there's just not much I can salvage there unfortunately.

Here is a repost with some tweaks as suggested.

Daniel, I would love to know what areas you see patterning in with regards to the added canvas?

Sweet banking pose Brian! Not an easy shot to get. I also think the repost is an improvement over the killer shot!

Super frame! Pose, sharpness, and exposure are all top-notch. Agree with Daniel's excellent tips.
