    Default Wildebeest going mad ...

Hi folks this Wildebeest went " mad " at a waterhole in Nxai Pan NP in Botswana ... always stress for the animals to come to a waterhole and drink , just a slight change of the wind does make them going " mad " at times .
Nxai Pan was so dry and hot when i was there , just one waterhole left in a large area .... so it was quite busy at that waterhole over the day . Image was taken around 11 am so heat haze was an issue and the strong lighting , regardless of the less ideal situation i still have taken loads of images as around noon was the most activity .
I could have gone " darker " in the exposure to get more depth into the highs and mids , but i like the light to be very light and strong to show the scene how i remember it .

Hi Andreas, what a crazy pose by the WB! Love the jump and the tilted head and mad look! I am fine with the exposure and overall composition. You handled the light well. Great techs as usual.

    Hello Andreas,

I quite like this crazy Wildebeest and its feet off the ground! The environment reminds me so much of the KTP, scorching hot and the typical heat haze.

Great techs and well processed Boetie with nice colours. Great to see so much detail on the subject. Framing works and I am glad you included the one chap at the back, just adds a little context. Nicely done!

I still have a photo of you in your vehicle near the waterhole at Polenstswa...surrounded by wildebeests and plumes of dust... great memories

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

I think this is a gem, great timing and good focus, I agree the one in the background adds context. Steve mentioned your ostrich for print, I would suggest this one.

Crazy for sure Andreas, but the OOF one isn't adding anything. With hindsight not having the 1.4 would have been better, better options to crop. I do like the landscape format and keeping the subject to the left, but needs more below. Nicely processed and conveys the location in it's true colours.
