    Default Evening Ostrich (South Africa)

I'm not sure how this will be received, but I liked the rim lighting on the subject and the soft pastel hues in the surroundings. Sun was about to set behind a backing mountain, and the bird was just tall enough to be the last illuminated object, albeit from the back side. Regardless, it's something different.

    Dorian:

It is well received by me! I like rim and backlighting, esp. when the light is soft enough to still allow nice detail of the front of the subject. Colors and background are nice as well.

I might consider lowering the luminosity of the very bottom foreground just a bit, perhaps with a linear gradient, to keep it from competing with the subject for our visual attention. Minor point.

    Cheers

Fabulous shot. These birds are generally shown in arid environments. Lovely soft sunset light. Wings down is nice too.

I like the image very much, I appreciate the evening light will alter colours, but that is probably the way they were. (??)
