    Default Stepping Out = Trumpeter swan

    This free ranging bird was captured in Michigan. They were heading towards another trumpeter, to show them who was boss.

    Z9 500 PF. f6.3,ISO 800, Matrix metering with 1 2/3 EV. Hand held.

    Post: Small crop for comp.

    Super fun to see those huge feet in action. Lotta detail there and across the rest of the bird. I only wish the squawking beak was clear of that far wing. I could see lightening the beak/lores a bit to get a bit more detail. But that's pretty minor. Otherwise exposure and details look good.

    I agree about the bill overlap, but thought that the fact that you can see the background through the open bill helped mitigate that issue a bit.

    love the walking pose and the soft tones Randy! Agree with Dorain would raise the exposure won the base of the bill to expose more details there

    Very cool pose! I and fine with the intersecting wing and beak because it is barely interacting and the pose more then makes up for it.
