Default Soft light showcases the colors - Common Loon

This loon was taken in August. It was an overcast day, and the soft light really made the subtle colors on the neck and head standout. Under most lighting conditions, they are much less obvious. I also like the stretched out neck, which they often do when on alert, in this case because of a non resident loon on their lake.

    Z9. 600 f/4 with 1.4 TCIII, 1/800 S, f/6.3, ISO 900. Taken from my little loon boat.

Post: PS 2023. No increase in saturation or vibrance to augment the neck colors, just the soft light.

Colours look beautiful, the low angle and spot on focusing make this a delightful image.

Hi Randy, lovely image. Low POV and soft light provide a wonderful image. As always techs look spot on. Thank you for sharing.

A fine image Randy. I love the low angle, the wonderful exposure on the bird, the water dripping from the beak and that eye. TFS.
