Another one from the archives, a simple low level shot of Mr Warthog.

No 'trickery' in the FG Andreas, it is what is.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

LOL Steve ... this looks different , way different than the Meerkat ... do not have the impression trickery was used . Transition does look more natural .... compared to the Meerkat .
Love the low POV and the gorgeous color contrast in this image .
And for sure the subject is so cool , very often overlooked in the field . Always love the red soil ....
Processing spot on ... with lovely fine details . Just the stump needs to go ....

    Hi Steve,
Incredible low level shot of this warthog. Love the light and details. Stunning I must add. They are difficult to photograph as they keep running away with their tails up!! Well done.

Sometimes I think Andreas you have to leave the 'ugly elephant in the room, in' otherwise it appears/looks to perfect/manicured/sterile IMHO.

    Cheers Sanjeev.

We have a saying 'Do as I say, not as I do.' Basically "don't imitate my behaviour but obey my instructions."

    Dear Steve,

As I mentioned to you earlier I tried very hard this afternoon to grab a decent image of a warthog female and babies...Unfortunately they were incredibly skittish and ran away every time I stopped the vehicle and got the camera out the window. A bit disappointed, was hoping for a decent image to process, all I got is those tiny babies in a big frame, not very exciting.

Back to your image, I really like the POV. Also colours and that lovely detail on the subject. In two minds about the little stump, on one hand I think it helps balance the image but I can also see a 'cleaner' frame with just the warthog and no distractions. Love the proud stance from the subject and its little 'mane', reminds me of a warthog I saw in the Kruger that looked like a mini lion

Thank you so much for sharing and I hope you have a lovely rest of the evening,

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Aaaargh Steve, I am so grateful for you being so understanding. As you know, there is nothing I would love more than to spend time taking images and processing them. But times are tough in SA these days post COVID, and especially when one runs a retail business. So many challenges. Won't go into detail, just hope things go back to normal at some stage, busy to implement measures to deal with everything.

Have a wonderful rest of the week,

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
