    Default Belted Kingfisher

It's been years since I last posted an image on BPN, even though I've continued to photograph during that time. It's nice to see that the forum is still quite active! I photographed this Belted Kingfisher male while in Florida a couple of weeks ago. Definitely the best encounter I've ever had with one of my nemesis birds!

Good to hear from you, old man! I'll be in ABQ at the beginning of next month to lead another birding tour!

As to image, it shows the bird's bullet profile perfectly. Exposure and details look good, and I like the view of the curled feet. I might have a crack at lightening the BG ahead of the bird. Otherwise spot on.

Blast from the past! Nice to here from you Doug, we missed that avatar . BPN still alive and kicking, but social media has taken a huge bite out of online forums.

These guys are tough to approach, even when perched - I would love to have something like this in my files. I suppose you would have liked more light on the near wing, but who is to complain really. I love the tucked-in feet!

    Hey Doug:

I had to check twice to be sure it was the original Doug Brown!! Great to see you pop up.
Excellent image of a bird that is a nemesis of mine as well.

I like the angle in the frame showing both wings, the soft background and exposure as well.

    Look forward to more!

Hi Doug. Good to see you posting here again. Let's see some more. This a terrific flight shot for a bird that is very difficult to capture. Probably everyone's nemesis; certainly mine. Good flight angle, background.

A pretty cool image to open the account back up with Doug, they are like bullets so kudos.

Hi Doug, welcome back I look forward to more of your images that I can learn from. Really nice flight image of a difficult bird, so unpredictable. Thank you for sharing.
