From from my time at the Kingfisher Set Up.........This was early morning with limited light....I should have been at a faster SS here and pushed the ISO more....The SS was too slow.... when the bird was battering the fish against the perch to kill it....I got no keepers.. I think I got away with this one, due to IS in camera, and being attached to a gimbal head...ACR, Topaz DN and PS.

Hi Will, nice frame and there is so much potential in the image. Killer BKG which really helps isolate the subject and no KF can resist a new perch. Trying to find a great perch can be problematic but Alan endeavours to deliver here Will, the moss is nice, but you need to extract the light on it. Is this much of a crop or is this FF? Tech and on a locked down gimbal you should good, but yes going to 6400 would not hurt.

Get yourself a cable release Will, note IS only dampens down any camera shake/movement even on a Gimbal/Ball head and is better with RF glass.

Overall the image is a bit flat albeit there is colour in the subject, but initially doing some HSL changes in the Raw, including achieving a better WB as the starting point, then with some simple Curves, Vibrancy and a couple of layers you can achieve a lot more depth and colour Will, it's not complicated seriously. Again as I said to Dorian, this is not a 'definitive' RP Will, just suggesting where you might want to look at to take the image further.

Hi Wil, really nice image. Beautiful kingfisher, fish in bill turned the right way, nice perch and pure background make a wonderful image. I think Steve's edit shows the potential that with tweaking can come forth. I am jealous, thank you for sharing.

Thanks Steve and Joe for the comments....This is about 70% of the original Steve....I think there's too much yellow on the RP...somewhere in-between the 2.....would work....
