    Default Osprey too close

I only have my Nikon 500mm prime, so sometimes you get too close and clip wings, so...no crop on this one. Anyhow, I know this image may not appeal to some, but I like it.

I like it. Good close-up look at this determined Osprey. Sharp detail where it counts.

    hi Paul,

Fish Eagle loves you, you have cooked very well until today. This is also a choice one, detail and closeness are very good. congratulations.

I like the processing and the detail is very good but for me a little too close.

    Hi Paul,
Considering the other qualities of the image, for me the closeness is not an issue. The shear impact and incredible detail on the bird and its prey mean it doesn't matter to me that the wingtips are clipped. It's a stunning image and a great look at the character of this hunter, well done!
    Cheers, David

Hi Paul ... cool capture and i do not mind the tightness .
Shame about the membrane covering half of the eye .
Think you can give the image a bit more tonal boost in the midtones without hurting anything .
Surprised to see " hard edges " along the back fin of the fish .... think they should be smooth taking the DOF into account . Maybe you have " monkeyed around " with a Topaz product ?

Still a very nice and cool shot

Thank you all for the feedback.
Jonathan: As I said...may not appeal to everyone but I appreciate the feedback.
David: Thanks so much for the kind feedback.
Andreas: Thank you for the feedback and suggestions. I'll take another look at the mid tones. I'm fine with the membrane however. Only used Topaz for noise reduction and selective sharpening.

pretty dramatic frame, given the close up details I don't mind the clipping but I wish you had softer light. in a perfect world the fish would have straight with a better view of the eye and more separation from the osprey, techs are good
