Hi folks ... yet another one of the Reddies
Made a stop at the Squirrels tody during a relaxed round with my bicycle , had the camera with for just in case
Always nice to get them high ..as mostly they hang around on the ground , as people feed them . This one grabbed a nut and jumped into the tree , i just took the quick opportunity to grab some shots .
It was dark and against the light , so i had to change settings quickly ... but dialed in the " wrong " value . By accident i lower the SS instead of raising the exposure compensation . So i was ending up with a very slow SS ... but the lens and camera performed well . Tack sharp captured file .

Processed with Capture One and PSCC 2023 ; cropped a bit for comp from all sides . reduced the branch by size that is in front of the head .... did not want to remove it completly

Hello Andreas,

Very cute subject, love squirrels, busy bodies and they are all so entertaining and sweet looking. Yours is no exception.

Nicely framed and the colours look great, lovely munching pose too. Nice job on shortening the branch in front of the subject, don't think I would have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it...was too taken with the squirrel.

The only thing that bothers me a bit is those bright edges of the leaves on the RHS of the frame. A little too bright for my liking... but of you are happy with them it's ok.

Really looks good for 1/160s...Did you have any support at all or just your steady hands?

Nice shot, what happened to the branch in front of the squirrel? Have you been monkeying around??

I quite like the composition Andreas, but the busy BKG just doesn't help the separation between the two, subject/environment. The perch is not great and the holly leaves just jar and conflict, almost dominating the scene. The white/blue highlight by the tail should be evicted.

Nice attentive pose, and the detail looks great across the subject, especially on the little paws! I like the patterned texture which the holly(?) leaves add, but I agree with Steve and Gabriela that they end up hurting more than helping as far as the entire image in concerned. But a nice frame regardless.

I do agree in general with some reservations you have .... but do not find them an " image killer " .

The perch is a living tree and " monkeyed " it in it´s lenght .
