On my way to Cape May last week I drove the loop around Brig (now Forsythe NWR). Not much to photograph except for some distant duckage and a Northern Harrier that didn't cooperate. But this Grackle posed nicely on a piling. I first thought this was an out-of-place Rusty Blackbird, until a photographer friend corrected me. Thanks Carolyn; I should have thought of that.

Hi Bill, a female Boat-tailed Grackle. Interesting fact, in Florida they have brown eyes, everywhere else the eyes are yellow. Nice head turn, feather detail looks good, interesting weathered perch. Thank you for sharing.

The weathering and mosses save this perch from being totally mundane. I don't love it, but don't hate it either. I like the browns on this bird, and good look-back pose. The tail seems smooth - NR?

First thing I noticed was the piling. You were saved by the greens on this and the fact that is weathered and starting to decay. Details all look good and like the hint of some water in the background very subtle. TFS.

Thanks all for your comments. Yes, Daniel, possibly some effects of DeNoise AI on the tail.
