    This cute little ground squirrel was another surprise visitor at the ground blind watering hole in S Texas.

    We were primarily there for bird photography but loved the opportunity to shoot other species too.

    When I saw the thumb, I thought you were gonna be caught in the no-man's-land between a head shot and afull-body frame, but this works on a number of levels.
    I assume you cropped the way you did to preserve the rings, and I think that was a wise move. Negative space at right is really soft and pretty, and the shallow DOF
    across the subject really draws us into the big black eye. Details looks great; I'm sure no TC helped on that front! Nicely done.

    Hi Brian ... looks great on all counts , nicely processed too .
    Well chosen comp to include the rings in the water .
    Color , tones and the super low POV just tp notch

    Yes, I liked the rings in the water and felt it gave a certain effect, choosing to leave them.
