I have been following this pair for a number of years and it looks as though they have some eggs way up above on a cliff face:as usual just where, not sure. As she buzzed past us a couple of times we hope we will be in business after they fledge which will be about the middle of November. Cloudy evening in cool spring this year so the sun on the bird but not behind her, which I quite like. Very pleased with the lens.I used DXO Prime on
the raw but not sure it was necessary.Advice appreciated as always.

Nice shot Ian, well exposed. I am wondering however if the eye is in true focus. I downloaded the image, it does not appear to have an embedded profile and it would appear that some adjustment had been made on the foot??

Hi Ian, sweet light and pose but this one just isn't sharp for me. Looks like the focus point was at the bottom of the near wing.

    It's an almost unfortunately :-/

Ian the first thing I noticed was the lack of sharpness on the head. Looking at the near shoulder/wing the softness continues. Do like the position and how it shows the primaries and secondary's feathers. Looks like the bird just left a perch with the feet position. Great blue background. TFS

Hi Ian, the action is superb and the exposure is spot on. I agree head is not tack sharp but it looks like motion blur to me. If you have the raw send it to me, it might be salvageable.

for falcon stoop I am at 1/4000 or 1/5000 sec.

The action is wonderful, but, like others, I must point out that the bird isn't sharp. It's probably motion blur as no area of the subject is perfectly sharp. Otherwise, I think you could desat the image a touch. Yellow looks pushed a bit.
