Default Sandwich Tern Shaking To Dry Wings

    Attached Images Attached Images

I captured this image of a Sandwich Tern at Ft. DeSoto County Park in Pinellas County, Florida last Thursday. Terns when feeding, diving into the water behave it two ways when regaining flight. If they have caught a fish they will toss the fish into the air catching the fish head first to quickly swallow the fish. If they have missed catching a fish they will shake and shimmy to dry their wings and feathers to join the hunt to try again for a fish. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Very well done. It looks as if you have been hanging out on the fishing pier ...
