This is the same bird, and location as my previous Sparrowhawk image.....A different pose.....The sunlight here was shining on the BG, but not on the subject.... ACR and PS.

Shooting wide open worked Will, with excellent detail and a bokeh BKG to kill for. Great separation and enough space for the subject to breathe. Like the fact you have enough post, it's not tight, so the content doesn't appear to be slipping out of frame.
Legs tend to be more of a deeper yellow, so I'm guessing you have boosted the eye a fraction? Perhaps tweak the legs too, or drop the yellow eye a fraction, it's a little out of kilter to me Will, but your call.

Lovely image. Was this a set-up? I've always loved subject in shadow/background in sun images.

This is a really nice image, Will. I don't mind the flat light one bit! Composition is outstanding - just the right amount of perch! The super clean BG really allowed you a greta view. Love the feather detail!
Thanks for that.....Much appreciated

Missed this one, sorry Will.
I must echo everything positive above, truly an outstanding frame. I could not think of any way to improve it.
Sitting back to enjoy and observe everything you provided. Well seen, thank you!
