This Great Egret (breeding plumage) was captured at a local pier, hand held using portrait orientation. I like how it turned out.

D500/500PF, 1/2000th sec@f5.6, iso1000 in overcast conditions. Basic adjustments in ACR and PS. Cheers.

I love the perfectly symmetrical down-the-barrel look on the face, combined with the ever so-slight twist of the body. Good call on the vertical, but I think it needs even more room above and below as the comp is tight as is. A fun image nonetheless.

Love the bird and the stare and the leg color. What is the Latin name for this species?

The repost was much needed and is much better but for the water pattern mismatch on the left frame-edge about level with the subject's feet.

Thanks Artie, and yes to the "mismatch".
Ardea Alba is the Latin name.

A very memorable image, Paul! The green lores really crack in the gray surrounds. Report looks much better with more room above and below.
