Joe, the eye and surrounding area does not look sharp/critically focused to me.
Love these birds. They're tough to get in flight, so nice job on that. I do agree with Jonathan than the face isn't in critical focus. The whole bird looks the slightest bit smeared. It's minor, but it could be do to focus issue or the slightly slow shutter. I'd want 1/3200 for something like this.

But it lacks sharpness , so I am with the others on that front ?? Maybe a too large crop with a loss of IQ ??!!
Jon, Dorian and Andreas, thank you for viewing and commenting. I revisited the image processing and converting the raw/master using my normal workflow. This time using Topaz Denoise AI to remove the noise then back into Lightroom to sharpen using deconvuluted sharpening. I think it is better and sharper. WDYT?
P.S. In the previous image posted I had used Topaz to sharpen the image.
