I had already set myself up lying prone on the beach to photograph this fella in the hopes it would catch something. It took a long time for it to do anything but just stand there, and what it did was fly away....oh well, the series of poses it gave me was enough to make me happy, with this one being my favorite.

The subject stands out well from the surroundings, colours are pleasing as are the water droplets.

Hi Dan, welcome to the statuary Great Blue Herons. When they are hunting/stalking prey it seems like they remain motionless forever. Nice wing position captured, I really like the water droplets, sharp, good background. Thank you for sharing.

A dandy Daniel! Dandy Dan haha.

That's about as golden light as there is, just glowing warm. Ideal pose with curled tips is sweet and like the kick up off the water.

Overall comp is solid, a great frame TY!

Low angle makes this frame. Had yo been any higher you would have lost the water drops against a busier background. Comp and color are excellent.
