Cisticolas are to Africa as Empidonax flycatchers are to North America; diverse in form and difficult to identify! Fortunately, most occupy discrete habitats and produce distinct vocalizations, so there is hope of separating one from the next if you're willing to dig into the field guide and spend time listening to calls on Xeno Canto (or equivalent platform).
To capture this Rattling variety at Kruger, I had to shoot across my wife's face from the passenger seat (she was driving). Fortunately she did a nice job positioning the car and reclined her seat to avoid being clubbed by my 600!
The birder in me loves capturing the species pure photographer inevitable miss!
