Hi Dorian ... great to see that you are participating in this forum
And good to see that you are pointing your lens at something else than feathers ... LOL .
Hope you had a great time in Kruger , at least you seemed to have great light one day .

Cool light Dorian, but would like to see somewhere a bit of black so you do have more tonal range & depth to the subject. The HL grass bottom right is a bit unfortunate, but great to see you changing subject ie, not Avian.

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Super shot love the backlight good suggestion from Steve, a minor selective adjustment to the curve makes a significant difference.
Another FANTASTIC RESULT from an everyday oppurtunity. What a beautiful wildlife image. This sort of image keeps me wanting to better my photographic abilities

After pulling the darks down a bit, I think you are right. The original seems the slightest bit washed out in comparison, and I think the extra contrast adds to the drama. As for the glowing bit at bottom right, I really like it. My bird frames are usually so clean that I was happy to get a little something different here!
