From June 4th. This little fella was very accommodating for two days. Such a rare joy to photograph in spring (for us anyways...)...now on to fall migration - hoping it will be a good one!

Canon R6 + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1250s., f/5.6, ISO 400, natural light, handheld, about 80% FF, small impefections removed from the water (spot removal tool) and a distracting oof Sanderling content-awared out of the ULC.

Exposure handled very nicely Dan, light looks quite bright. Pleasing overall colour palette, with good detail where it counts. We have them here and often just on the edge of in coming tide, scurrying along looking for tastes morsels.

So..., you are not now tempted with the R7 too????

Nice shot Dan you have a knack of finding birds with complimentary background colours - and this looks great. The fact that the bird is still in summer plumage makes up for the fact that it is a static portrait.

hi Daniel ... a typical shot of yours , very well executed .
love the vibrant colors and super smooth transitions from fg to the subject and then fading into the bg .
    nicely done

Sweet bird, plumage, and light. If it were mine, I would do some extensive clean-up and smoothing in the area mentioned by Arash. The specular highlights are distracting.
