    Default Kingfisher (Juvenile)

After a gruelling six weeks, I needed a break and went to see what was happening on the Kingfisher/Sparrow hawk site. The Saturday was the only time and after the blistering heat wave we are currently experiencing, it was the only day it rained, well for the morning... anyway.

Female was back, with a bonkers juvenile who was trying to move in on her patch, got a bit confusing who was who until you looked at the feet, however.

Thanks to those who commented or viewed the last posting.

Pretty much ideal image the colours details exposure look bag on to me, the pose is very pleasing. the water droplets on the back and the hint of a raindrop here and there just add to the scene. Its a super shot.

    Cheers Jon.

Considering the weather we have, it's typical that it drizzled that morning. Location is tough and to get 'atmospheric rain' you want a slow SS, much lower than I have here, but as you know these birds are so quick and do not hang about, so caught between a rock and a hard place. Made a lot of 'rookie' mistakes on the day, just shattered and was up at 5.00 am to get to this location, but hey... Will try again at the end of the month if my schedule of work allows. Have you moved yet?

Thanks Joe, the perch is what it is, but I have no control over that, albeit Jon raised a good point on a PM which if hyper critical could be a flaw, however...

Yes, in May a day after talking to Will regarding his R6, however I've been using one since Feb, but could not post as it wasn't mine.

I like this one......Those colours on the bird are perfect.....The BG looks good against the bird....The position of the bird on the perch is nice with the with the bill pointing over the edge......

Cheers Will, would you believe.... the Sparrow Hawk is less than 5m away!!!!

Both tolerate each other, but she did give one great posture when the SH came down.
