    MOTIF: Backlit Bosque Photographer

Photographed with Alfred during Artie's November's IPT Bosque workshop. I was hoping to get some landing birds in this light ... but the photographer with his camera/tripod had to do!:)

Thank you for looking, and your tips for improvement is always appreciated.

I really like it, its atmosphere, the mood, the highlighting of the taller plants in the middle, and even the hill with its bush and bare tree in the back left corner. For me, that gives the image depth. I like how your eye zip-zags from the photographer to the highlighted plant in the center, to the back left hill, and then again to the back right to the very faint shadow. Technically, I have no idea how to improve it. Kind of wish there was more to the image. Leaves me wanting to look for more and more details. And its nice to know who the photographer is, too. :)

I think Cheryl has said it all. From the thumbnail, I had thought maybe take some off the right side, but feel that would be a disservice now I've seen it at size. I really like the colors in this, you've caught early morning so well, you even managed to get the dew on the grasses!

Wouldn't change a thing here, a super image! Sometimes you look around and see the shot, you did that and made it yours...well done!

    Brian,
What the heck are you doing in eager to learn.
I warned this group about sandbaggers!:)

Now about the image, all I am going to say is that is making chicken salad out of chicken poo.
    Well done.
Like you, I don't believe in leaving without an image I like, even if my intended subject did not show up.

Thank you all for your nice comments and encouragement! The exif data is: 1/2500, f/6.3 at 800 ISO. You can probably tell by the info that I was set up for that hopeful bird landing:(.

The photographer in the frame was not part of our workshop group (and I don't have a model release:eek:!) But I do know that Artie and others in our workshop were able to get some really nice backlit bird landings.

Thank you James! I am learning so much too ... just as everyone else!:) If not by example, then by inspiration, or support, or ideas, or help. Hey re: sandbagger warning:) ... remember my complementary attempt with Micah? :):)
