    hi Jon .... this does look way better in terms of body posture and shooting angle .
    again nicely processed in terms of color and tone .... love the color palette in the subject . a good range of detail .
    asking myself why does it not show the same amount of sharpness ( at least IMHO ) as i.e. the puffin image ????

    Andreas I think the answer lies in the fact that it is different circumstance. This bird was flying at some speed - I don't know......say 50-60kph and the puffin wasn't flying. The puffin was also larger in the frame so there would be considerably more detail to view. There is an expression in English: apples and pears (it means similar but different)

    Jon i do understand the different situations and the potential different feather structure ... I would try to sharpen the bird more , to see if one can get more sharpness .just a thought
