hi folks ... another special sighting for me from the past , image taken in Zambia in the south luangwa np .

not very often is it possible to get so close to crane species , at least from my experience . so I was very happy this couple ( albeit only one is in the picture ) was letting me shoot some frames before going away .

wish both feet would have been visible ...

What a magnificent looking bird, the colors are wonderful. Nice background, detail on the bird and setting with the grass. Unfortunate it appears the bird was just the other side of a hill/mound to one foot does not show but still a memorable image. Thank you for sharing, Andreas.

I love everything about this one, the soft light, the image design, the sharpness, the crest, and the open bill. Well done!

Lovely shot and I appreciated presented brightly quite deliberately.
I did a TK8 selection of Mid tones and colour graded the highlights pulling down slightly and I think I prefer it just that little more lower key. It gives the image little more pop.

What a magnificent crane, and you did it justice. Nice separation from the BG, and just enough grasses to add lots of good interest to the surroundings.

Wonderful shot. Striding pose, head turn, simple BG, grasses. Nicely done.
