    Default Ring-necked Duck

    I captured this image at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. The chestnut colored ring that the duck gets it's name from can be seen, most time it is hidden from view. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 500mm PF, camera and lens supported by a Oben carbon fiber monopod with a Wimberly MonoGimbal head
    1/2000 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 400 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 500mm (750mm 35mm Equivalent)
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2022 and Topaz Denoise AI
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    hi Joe ... good and clean image . lovely color palette . details and sharpness are rendered nice and fine ... well done . love that yellow eye that pops .
    I would try to get more from the dark tones and the reflection is quite flat .... needs some more imho .

    here is a possible option

    Hi Andreas, thank you for viewing and commenting and editing the image to reflect your thoughts. The image was captured early morning when this part of the lake is shaded until the sun rises above the rooftops, so dim light. Looking at your edit I can see the shadows were pretty heavy. Easy edit in Lightroom, select mask the subject and then raise the shadows with the slider, already done. Thanks again...

    My comments would be similar Jo , super image but darks too dark.

    I prefer the dark tones in the original post. I wish only for the complete reflection. Nice one, Joe.
