Now that is close, a lovely shot and the colors are excellent. I would have liked a little more area below the end of his tail, but when it's full frame can't do anything about that.
I like the composition, he details on the bird are razor sharp with very pleasing colors. You did well with the exposure, considering the harsh sun light. the head angle and eye contact is there. My only suggestion would be to add a little bit of canvas at the bottom to make more room for Mr. Bird's tail...congrats...good show...:cool:

I'm with Gus and George on this, except I would like to see a little more room all the way around with special attention
to the bottom right (as mentioned by Gus).
I know we create images when opportunities present themselves. But if you can create images when the sun is lower in the sky, it can take an image from very good to great.
Good job Dave! I agree with the other posts. I would selectively sharpen the feathers on the head, but that's about it other than what's already been mentioned. Thanks for posting!
