    Default Northern Gannet from Newfoundland

Just returned from leading 12-day birding/photo tour through Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Weather held up nicely, and we had great views of loads of the resident seabirds. I spent most of my time assisting clients but
was able to crack off a few frames when they were occupied. This one is from Cape St. Mary's on the Avalon Peninsula south of St. John's. No shots to be had of birds on the ground at this location given the distance to the
nests/colony, but I was thankful the usual mist was absent on this morning. Hardest part is getting eye contact from the birds since they're so focused on finding their nests/mate below the viewing area. Happy with this one!

Processed in LR CC with a very light pass through Topaz. Cloned one OOF bird on the water hundreds of feet below the subject.

hi Dorian a classical gannet shot , well executed . all does look good to me and very good that you mentioned where they mostly pointing their heads when being close to the colony .
love the contrast in terms of color and tones to the ocean .

Hi Dorian, I cannot see how you could improve the image. The top view is quite nice, post processing spot on, good head angle on the bird. Thank you for sharing.
