Hi folks ... close to my first milestone on BPN
I was experimenting with slow shutter on Helgoland when possible , with very much mixed results . was not satisfied most of the times .
regardless of my own thoughts I try to post something on that slower front ....

Enjoying these Gannet posts from your trip. Hopefully next year I'll be able to do a road trip to Bonaventure Island in Quebec.
Like you said it's hit and miss on slower shuttle speed, always nice to try something different.
I find slower shutter speed works best with fast moving objects like race cars.

Not an easy shot to pull off,.....I would have liked to see a sharper head, which would make the blur more effective....The colours are nice throughout.

I love the blue surrounds, but i'm not sure about the blur because it's not blurred enough to be artistic. As is, it looks like an accidental capture with a slow shutter rather than something designed. It pains me to say that since I've never even tried to do anything creative with motion blur, but this image seems caught between creative and critical.

hi folks .... fully understand your reservations about the head sharpness and the not ideal blurring of the rest , in fact that was the best one out of that sequence .
    i will try again

    cheers A
