    This is full frame. Does it need more room added to it though? The bird seems a bit tight to me for such a large bird. When I photographed this bird, I tried to get it off center, but perhaps didn't pull back far enough to get it enough room. What do you think?

    I like the way the ripples seem to circle around the bird, leaving a clear area of water behind its head and I like the head angle, even though there isn't direct eye contact.

    Maybe a little room up top and on the right Cheryl. You did well with the exposure, and for the most part, sharpness is good. I might selectively sharpen the head and eye. I would also remove the vertical elements up top. Overall a nice job!

    Cheryl,
    Doug covered the exposure and sharpness.

    Your gut was correct, the subject is IMO to tight in the frame.
    A "looser" composition would improve an otherwise very good image.

    Cheryl, you got the hard part, exposure, just right..GOOD GOING!!! A bit tight in the frame as mentioned
