    I captured this image at a stop a long Blackpoint Wildlife Drive in Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Merritt Island, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 500mm PF + Nikon 1.4 III Teleconverter, Handheld leaning on vehicle
    1/2500 F/8 Matrix Metering EV -1/3 ISO 1250 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 700mm (1050mm 35mm Equivalent)
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2022 and Topaz Denoise AI
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    looking good on all counts ... cool bird , superbly isolated from bg , ha and detail are stunning .

    I like this so much, Joe. Everything works, from the subject's pose to the perch to the background, the colours....well framed, some nice detail in those feathers too. Lovely work !

    Hi Andreas, you have a good memory my friend. I have posted one very similar, I think from the same series. This one I worked up today using the new masking tools in Lightroom/ACR to smooth and blend the background. When capturing the image I could not get enough separation from the mangrove bushed/background. Thank you for viewing and commenting.

    nice frame Joe, pretty perch and BG, in an ideal world sun would have been behind your neck but otherwise perfect, you may want to give the blues more life
