Hi Jon, a nice image of the deer with that head turned all the way to probably mitigate an itch. I quiet like the pose and makes this more appealing. I would prefer more room below if you have it. Good details and natural looking colours. T F S.
Well done technically. Looks as if he was smelling something he liked :)
Here is another vote for pointing the lens down. Why? You have cut off the virtual feet and the negative space at the top does not do anything for the image.

Sanjeev, Artie, I agree with the lower viewpoint being better I wish I could have but I could not for practical reasons if I had gone lower I would have got more grass to the extent the subject was occluded, and I was standing in a lower position to the deer.
I am so sorry, this does not work for me, at least from the aesthetic POV. Pose is not quite flattering for the subject ( makes him look awkward) and IMHO the biggest issue is, the legs being cut off - don't mind the grass as such, I am referring to the space you should have allowed for the 'virtual' limbs. Do not think that placing the subject right in the middle works very well either.
DoF is nice, so is exposure. Detail is there. Colours look good, taking into consideration lighting conditions. If the frame can take it I would go really close here to showcase the beautiful features of the subject's face and antlers.
hi jon .... the overall techs look good , as does the iq .
from the aesthetic POV it does not work for me .... too much on top and not enough on the bottom .
