    I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 500mm PF + Nikon 1.4 III Teleconverter, camera and lens supported by a Oben carbon fiber monopod with a Wimberly MonoGimbal head
    1/4000 F/8 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 1100 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 700mm (1050mm 35mm Equivalent)
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2022 and Topaz Denoise AI
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Spot on I really like the wonderful details and beautiful colours.
    I have one minor suggestion and that would be to apply a little more sharpening to the end 1-2cm of the bill.

    He certainly looks like a typical grumpy Heron! Bags of detail, the end tip doesn't bother me personally, I like the face the shadow in the eye doesn't quite intrude onto the pupil.

    Wow lots of great detail on this Joe well done. Be interesting to know the age of this guy. I assume he is a older bird with all the weathered bill. TFS

    Nice portrait. Just enough red shoulder included. This guy does not want to be messed with! I do wish for a "fresher" bill, but the overall image looks great nonetheless.
