Blackburnian Warbler

Hope to maybe get some more this upcoming week when out, but liked the pose on this guy. Would prefer perched in a pine, don't like the tree sticks behind him but don't think it's an image killer. Thanks for any feedback.

Taken in Jay Cooke State Park near Cloquet, MN.

Nikon Z9, 800 6.3, 1/800, f 6.3, ISO 1800.

The eye is in focus the DOF a little limited, the colours look rather saturated and dense to me, limited details in highlights and shadows, perhaps too much contrast/saturation?

Thank you so much for sharing this with us, such a pretty little bird and so colourful.

I do agree with Jon above, looks a bit oversaturated and the blacks lack detail. Quite like the little stem with the buds... do not mind the DoF as long as the face is sharp, which I think is the case here. So maybe worth another look, less contrast?

Nice capture Paul. I don't have the patience for warblers they never stop. I like it as not so busy hard to catch out in the open. I also agree over saturated DOF is ok as the head is sharp where it counts.

Contrast does look a bit heavy, but saturation looks ok form my end. Good pose and background, but the main issue here (IMO) is the subject being so big in the frame - and specially tight above. Blackburnians are always a treat to see!

Thanks, the issue I think on this one was above was more twigs, and it's not a great perch; was out today and got some blackburnians I think in better poses.
