Jon:
I like the darker toned theme, nice dorsal display, the bill adds a pop of color. Yes, turned away, but still good eye contact. Appears to be some remaining noise in some areas, bill and face. Flying drops a plus.

Hi Jon, quite a dramatic image. The goose looks good against the dark background. The water drops add to the image. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Jo, and Randy. I noticed a little noise, PSCC and DXO PureRaw are not fully compatible with OM System files IQ will improve once made so.
Superb Jon - I love it when the more mundane species can hold my attention, means there must be something good in the frame! A little more at the base and on the right wouldn't hurt but I love the lighting in this
Mike
Jon, a nice and intimate interaction in a dramatic setting. That I love.
Lots to like about it TBH, but the head turn away unfortunately makes it a non-processor for me. I can appreciate the other positives, however.
Dear Jon,
I opened this thumbnail the other day and quite liked a number of things about this frame, including the dramatic background. Overall the colours and tones have a soothing effect on the eye and there's something elegant about the subject's pose. Wasn't so sure about the head turn though.
A bit tight at the bottom but I can live with that. Love the wing spread and water trailing off those feathers and just like Mike said above, I too feel you've created something special by capturing a relatively common species in a more unusual manner
Warmest regards,
