This is one from earlier this year.....I came across this owl as I was driving along a track....I stopped, and noticed it was perched on a 'new' fence post, which never looked good.....I decided to wait until a 'take off 'and held back....sure enough, when I emerged from the vehicle it took off.....and I got a few off......This was early light...pretty much limited.....HH...ACR, Topaz and PS.....

Really like this one Will, and quite envious! My owl shots are quite limited. Love the overall composition, flight pose, and contrast between the bird and BG. Glad you managed to fire off a few shots after take off. That eye really pops against the main tones in the bird. TFS

Will, you are so fortunate man. One day I'll get this species in flight as you have.

Just a solid all around frame. Fantastic flight angle and check out those legs and talons!

Did you lift the tones in the face/eye at all? Feel like maybe it's a little thin and you could really make that eye pop to draw us in by darkening the pupil and enhancing the iris a bit. In all, a beauty though!

Yes to a gorgeous frame and wing position. The horizontal line was bad luck.
