    Default Ospreys

Dottie and I went to Circle B Bar Reserve early this morning, we hadn't been there in a while. I had a nice walk, finding nothing to photograph until I met up with Dottie. I knew there was a Osprey nest but I always thought that it couldn't be photographed because of off the light angle and blocked by other trees. I was wrong, my wife had found a wonderful vantage point almost perfectly on the light angle. This morning one of the adult Osprey was carrying sticks/branches back to the nest. I thought strange behavior because the chicks are almost ready to fledge. I will be going back tomorrow morning hoping to catch it bringing breakfast for the chicks. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Joe:

Perhaps the juvis require some remodeling, they are getting so big?

Excellent landing pose, well exposed, stick a bonus, nice sky for background with the clouds.

Might consider a tiny trim off. the left, perhaps 5%, purely personal taste.

How tall would you estimate the nest to be compared to your position? Just curious.

Such a special capture, Joe, and it points to behaviour. Well framed, well exposed, love your ospreys.

Subjects look sharp with good detail. Beautiful sky. Nice colours overall. Interesting that the eyes of the bird on the nest ( female?) are more orange, while the male's eyes are yellow.

Hope you find the chicks soon, would love to see. I shall be back for more

    Kind regards,

I like the position of the visible juvie in this one. I'd lose the partially visible chick.
