Hi folks ... third species of my recent Rodent trip to Austria .
For sure not captured in Vienna .... some hundred km away in the Dachstein area close to the village of Filzmoos .
Had not really luck with Marmots as the weather was ... not that great and the Marmots looked quite ugly due to the fur change that is happening in June . A new thing learned as I did not know it before I went .
Nevertheless I took images ... you will see some ugly looking Marmots over the next time

    Hallo Andreas!

The Marmots might be ugly... but the environment looks really nice Lovely greens and flowers. BG is great. I think the PP work is really good and despite the challenges you did a really nice job presenting us the scene as you saw it.

I also like the rocks and image design overall. Marmot back side a bit overwhelming but...it is what it is, Boetie. Very nice colours and pleasant rich tones in the subject's fur. Wonderful

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Nice shot Andreas, Like the composition and pose. Overall presentation looks very good, I do wonder though if the image is a little more saturated than you usually present - especially the green leaves around the marmot.

Looks pretty spot on, could never get as close to the ones in Switzerland, they are not habituated to folk sadly.

Thanks Steve ... you can go hiking in the Dachstein area and have tame Marmots , but avoid June .... they do look " ugly "
