I knew I would regret it if I left some lenses home - so when I headed out with only the 500mm f/4 and the 100 f/2.8 macro lens to travel light that morning, Murphy's Law clearly stated that a landscape opportunity would arise. And of course it did. So I tried to work with the macro lens for this and nothing in horizontal looked good, but I think I succeeded in finding a good composition in vertical...and then a Canada Goose family that I had not even noticed swam into the scene. Thank you, thank you! Between the sunrise, looming clouds, bit of rain falling, reflections, and the geese, there is lots to take in, but it I love. Hope you like it too!

Canon R6 + 100mm f/2.8 macro lens, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/8, ISO 400, natural light, handheld, FF, deepened the blacks to taste while retaining a bit of texture in the trees, added extra "dehaze" in LR during raw conversion to bring out the cloud details, toned down the very brightest areas.

Vert nice indeed Dan, I like the processing, you did a pretty good job on the clouds - a nice 3D effect top left and I see the rain falling in the distance too. The geese complete the scene. Well done.

    Daniel:

Very nice, lots of different components to the image, well managed and composed. It pays to be open and flexible ( and lucky sometimes too!)

    Cheers

Lovely. I love the clouds and the image design is brilliant. 100mm was the perfect focal length. How did you focus?

Hi Dan, love the image, so much to look at. The colors are wonderful, the geese family add so much, they take the image over the top. Thank you for sharing.

Daniel: I recently watched a video whereby the photographer was doing a landscape photo where he wanted the steam train to be small in the frame, as opposed to being the main subject. You've achieved a similar style here. The geese are the icing on the cake of a beautiful image. Love the overall composition, with the golden light and dramatic clouds. Cheers.

Nice Landscape image. I would take the blue out of the clouds.

Daniel, the timing and creativity in composing this is so nice man. So many layers with the opening in upper left, rain coming down, mountains, water then the Geese.

Couldn't suggest a thing to edit, congratulations on this one!
