Beautiful bird and sharp. Is this the full frame original? I ask because the bird is dead-centered; the distance form the tail to the frame-edge is equal to the distance from the bill tip to the frame edge. In other words, do you have more room in front of the bird? with love, artie

Beautiful bird and image, but he's way, way to cramped in the frame. It's like he's in jail! I you could loosen the crop significantly it would really help the image. The bird is so striking he's not gonna get lost in any amount of space.
Also, the black look a bit heavy throughout the frame. It's also worth looking at the very bright spot on the vent, just above the left wing.

Thanks Artie and Dorian, I sometimes have tendencey to fill the bird a bit too much and not enough environment.
Here's a little less cropping...

Hi Artie, thank you for the note on the Z9 guide - I'll get the ebook. Many great modes, I find I use Wide Area the most, but it'll help to know what to use for perched vs. BIF.

Better, but why go with such a boxy crop? Try a 1.5 x 1 format instead; it's the industry standard for a reason. You'll trim negative space above and below and add it at the left where it's still needed.
