Conditions mottled sunlight. About 4 in the afternoon. Temperature 104 degrees F. Not the best conditions for photography that's for sure.

    Hey Chris!

Well in that temp no wonder it is looking for a drink!

Would like you to post a larger file next time, this is under 600 pixels and you can go up to 800, makes it easier to see. That said you did well here! I like the composition and the action. The tail over the head is a big plus, nice sunscreen.

I think you can get a sharper image if you bump up the shutter speed. You made this at 1/250 which is pretty slow for the size lens you are holding and I bet it was hand held? A good tripod would help if you can get yourself one.

Give us some more to look at and try to make the image a little larger so us old folks can see it better especially at 5:30 in the morning! :D

Oh I'm so glad George said that about the size, I thought it was just my blurry eyes;)

A Western Grey is a nice catch and showing how the squirrel got its name (shade tail) a classic pose! Love the scene!

Agree on the shutter speed. For what its worth, squirrels are rarely 'still' even when to the eye they seem to be so shutter speed is important for several reasons.

Tripod used was an old beat up 3021 Bogen that is past its due date. Bogen 3055 ballhead. I guess i still need help with sizing. When i set the image at 800 @ 72 dpi on its longest dimension it is larger than the 200 kb image limit and I can't post it Photshop is an ever learning process.
