    Default Feeding Time

I found this Caracara nest just outside of Tucson and was fortunate to be there during feeding time. This was full frame. I have another version of a later cropped frame with the emphasis on the mom, but think I like the inclusion of the chick better. Mom is carrying 2 chicks from another nest to feed her own young. Nature is brutal sometimes.

Excellent habitat image. Looks great in what looks like in harsh desert light.

What an awesome cactus nest! Nice incoming pose with the food. I like the eagerly waiting chick but would certainly remove the two sticks poking above its head and bill (and a third one between the mandibles). Fun, and I imagine you'll be going back for more Caracara fun!

Very nice Kurt....what a setting....Great timing to get the chick facing the adult with open bill....This crop and comp works for me....I like the position and pose of the adult bird flying in...Keep em coming....

Kurt, this is just great my friend. The composition presents nicely and the story is evident with the chick and dinner in tow.

Sweet incoming pose, nice angle of light on the adult, great sharpness across the image. Well done IMO to get a more pastel sky, much better than rich blue for sure.
